Helping Boys Heal from Trauma and Toxic Masculinity
Boys are caught in storms of trauma — whether stemming from abuse, poverty, substance use, grief and loss, trauma exacerbated due to Covid-19, racism, relationship difficulties, and violence. This workshop is designed to equip parents, concerned adults, and helping professionals with awareness and strategies to help boys heal from trauma and toxic masculinity.
Participants will reflect on the messages and images of how boys are negatively influenced and socialized in our society and work toward integrating positive and healthy forms of masculinity.
Dr. Anthony (Tony) C. Hill, Ed.D., MSW is a tenured, associate professor and chair of the Social Work Department at Springfield College School of Social Work and Behavioral Sciences at Springfield College, Springfield, MA.
