SUMMARY:Pathways to Pages: A Story Walk Adventure in the Flint Neighborhood
DESCRIPTION:Looking for a fun\, free\, and family-friendly activity right in your neighborhood? Come explore Pathways to Pages—a new interactive Story Walk experience happening at Father Travassos Park and Kathy Assad Park in the Flint neighborhood of Fall River! \nStarting August 1\, 2025\, families are invited to walk through the park and read a children’s story—one page at a time—mounted along the fence line at kid-height. Each story includes movement prompts that encourage kids to hop\, stretch\, spin\, or tiptoe to the next page\, turning reading into a full-body adventure! \nBut that’s not all! Each park will also feature:\n🌱 Community garden beds where kids can learn about plants and nature\n📚 Little Free Libraries filled with free books to take home*\n🪧 Fun signs and directions to guide your journey and keep everyone moving* \nStories will change every month\, so you can come back again and again for a new tale\, a new adventure\, and new reasons to read together outside. \nPerfect for:\nFamilies with children of all ages \nCaregivers\, grandparents\, neighbors\, and book lovers \nAnyone looking to enjoy the park\, move a little\, and make special memories \n*Coming Soon \nThis program was made possible through the support of a Love Your Block mini-grant from the City of Fall River.

SUMMARY:Dual Anon
DESCRIPTION:Starting Thursday-January 2nd at 5pm-The Fall River/New Bedford RCC is pleased to announce the start of the Dual Anon program\nDual Anon is for families and friends who have a loved one struggling with a dual disorder (addictions + mental health struggles) \n“Dual Anon Family Groups exist to help family and friends of people who experience two no-fault diseases: chemical dependency and emotional or psychiatric illness. Families coping with these diseases often feel alone and uncertain. Often family members try to help in ways that end up making the situation worse; others give up; others don’t know what to do.\nDual Anon\, through weekly meetings\, provides a base of support and educational information. We share each other’s struggles and provide an atmosphere of care and understanding. We all know what it’s like to see our loved one fall apart and to wish we could hold him together with our two hands; then watch him fall apart anyway. We understand the chaos that addiction and emotional or psychiatric illness bring to families.” (Courtesy of dualanon.org)\nFor more information on the Dual Anon program\, click here https://dualanon.org/\nFor more information on the Fall River/New Bedford Recovery Connection Center\, click here https://www.southeastrlc.org/fall-river \nWe hope to “see” you soon via Zoom!
