BABYSTEPS
BabySteps is a program offered by State Treasurer Deborah B. Golberg that provides $50 to Massachusetts families to save toward their children’s education through a partnership with MEFA (Massachusetts Education Financing Authority) to open a 529 Savings account.
SNAP into BabySteps provides an additional $120 to Massachusetts children under the age of one who are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP). Combined with the $50 BabySteps deposit, that’s a total of $170 to save toward your children’s future education costs.
WORTH & WEALTH
Worth & Wealth/Valor y Dinero seminars are financial education webinars available to all. These workshops range from a mix of financial topics, and they are offered in English and Spanish. Webinar attendees also have access to a free hour of financial coaching with an accredited financial coach— these coaching sessions are also offered in English and Spanish. The program usually runs from September to April.
Anyone who registers for a seminar will receive a follow-up email with the recording, slides and additional resources related to the presentation. The OEE YouTube page has uploaded webinars if you missed any. There are also playlists from previous sessions.
ENRICH
Enrich is a self-paced financial education platform that is free for all Massachusetts residents. Based on initial information shared by the user, and a person’s preferences and life stage, Enrich will suggest videos, articles, learning modules, and other tools to support money management questions.
